Parties, art exhibitions, movies, you name it!!! Entertainment and culture come together!!!!

Baby there’s no goodbyes!

Baby there’s no goodbyes!

Dear Erasmus people,

This semester we have laughed, cried ( from happiness of course), been to a lot of trips together, met awesome people from all over the world and lived a lot of crazy moments! :)

However, all good things come to an end, and this Friday it’s time to say goodbye..

But don’t be sad, cause this is not the end! You can always meet your friends again, you can still organize trips together and reunion in some place of the world! Remember, life is about memories, and Erasmus definitely is one of the best experiences in our life! So whenever you feel sad, think about all the beautiful moments of your Erasmus, and you’ll see how blessed you are to have lived this amazing experience!

And of course if you still want to live the Erasmus life, you can join the ESN section of your city, like we did, and keep on discovering new places and meeting new people from all over the world! :)

So don’t forget, this Friday our Goodbye party, where we’ll have lots of surprises for everyone :)

The winner of the photo competition will be announced, and they will be awarded with their gift!

And don’t forget to be dressed in white t-shirt, then you can have it written from your friends, to remember our last party! :)

Be there!

Can you fit in your suitcase??????

Can you fit in your suitcase??????
Can you fit in your suitcase??????

Isn’t it amazing how fast time can fly? Especially when you are having a good time…

January is almost over, and most of you are already done with your exams. Even worse some of your friends have already left Athens. Time has come to a point that you need to take action; you must do something really crucial that you have been trying to postpone it and i am sure you will postpone it for a couple more days…

Oh, what did you think? I am not talking about goodbyes! For God’s shake, Europe is the tiniest continent of them all, OF COURSE YOU WILL MEET AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I was talking about PACKING!!!

Now, don’t be scared; I know your luggage seems too small, and that all the stuff you want to take with you seem way to many. And trust me, I know how hard this “20-kg limitation” can be!!!! But you don’t to worry ;)  You just need to separate your stuff in two main categories: Things I DO want and things I do NOT want. But, please, DO NOT throw away anything for any reason!!!

ESN KAPA Athens and ESN NTUA Athens started a project so that you could give your stuff to the next Erasmus students who will come to Athens in the near future! They will be really thankful and will drink water in your name as we say in Greece!!! :D

More info at http://www.esnkapa.org/athens/content/give-next

After you are done with all your stuff you don’t need (kitchen ware etc), select all the clothes that you don’t need or you would throw away either way, and take them to ESN TEI Piraeus. At the end of February all the collected clothing will be donated to the Homeless Foundation of the Municipality of Athens.

Sweet, huh? No it s easier to pack and you gave a little something back to the society ;)

When you are a party queen!

When you are a party queen!
When you are a party queen!

I was looking back in my agenda, and as I was turning back the pages, going back in time, I realized that…

I HAVE NOT BEEN PARTYING ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, what happened to me? I am a HUGE party-liker… What do I do? What do I do? How can I get my “queen of the party” reputation back? … I should go to a BIG party, an AWESOME party, a party with many LIGHTS and vivid COLORS!!!

I know: I will go to the TRAFFIC LIGHT PARTY by ESN Panteion!!!!!!!!!!

And I should definitely wear green… or maybe yellow (you know, play it hard-to-get?)

WHEN: Friday 27.01.2012 @ MIDNIGHT!!!

WHERE: MILLENNIUM GKAZI , Voutadwn 60

For the love of Art !!!!!!!!

For the love of Art !!!!!!!!
For the love of Art !!!!!!!!

For the ones that are into the art, there is a special place in the heart of Athens where you can enjoy creations from Greek artists.

If you like paintings, photography, sculpturing, designers, unique handcrafted jewelry and other handcrafts; this is the place for you. You can just take a walk there, the entrance is free, and spend a different afternoon in the center of Athens.

The place was made by accredited Greek artists that wanted to host their own creations along with others, and make them accessible to the public. Every now and then they host exhibitions or bazaars, where you can also buy some art creations if you like. Bear in mind that this association donates the biggest part of its income in charities, so if you want to buy something it will be for a good cause!

It is located in the cosmopolitan area of Kolonaki, the address is Solonos 10 & Irakleitou.

You can also take a look at the website http://www.m-art.gr/ .

Doors open at 11 am and close at 7 pm during weekdays, and it’s also open every Saturday from 11.30-15.00.

The current exposition is called “9th Bazart” and it involves exposition of paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry and handcrafted artifacts.

For the love of Art, what are you waiting for?

So what are you? Good, Bad or Ugly?

So what are you? Good, Bad or Ugly?

Athens is famous for museums, galleries and art exhibitions. I am sure you have already visited some of them. BUT, check also this out!!

Robert Mapplethorpe

Do you know him?

Mapplethorpe considered to be one of the most a milestone artists (photographer) of the 20th century’s in American avant-garde scene with also big influence to the crowd. Famous for his eccentric life and for his challenging and auto-biographical art. Died in the late 80s but since then his work has been the subject of an extensive study while the directness and honesty in his approach to life and art continue to attract large interest worldwide

Dear Erasmus,

I bet that these days you partied really hard and wild, after all why not? You’re Erasmus :D
But these days in Athens , except cool parties, are also offered to the public very good art exhibitions, theatrical shows, ballet shows, operas etc..

For the Lovers of Art we suggest the exhibition to the National Art Gallery named ” Deep in the National Gallery”, since this collections includes paintings never showed to the public before. The exhibition includes creations of Dürer, Rembrandt and even a painting of Pablo Picasso! Plus it’s the last exhibition as the museum will start the restoration progress.

So if you liked the idea, hurry up since it’s open only until 08/01/2012.
Visit Hours : Wednesday 14.30 – 21.00 – Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday 09.00 – 15.30
