Tips and info about this amazing city that we all LOVE!!!

You are a cinema, I could watch you forever!

You are a cinema, I could watch you forever!

Want a chill night-out in the movies? If yes, we have found some offers for you.
Every Wednesday, in the cinemas Nirvana and Aello, there is a special offer, you get 2 tickets for the price of 1 ! One ticket costs approximately 8 euros, so this means that if you go with a friend you just pay 4 euros, but it’s not valid for 3D movies, keep that in mind ;)

Cinema Aello is located in Patision 140, it’s a 5 minutes walk from the Aueb and the movies currently playing on Wednesdays are “THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO”, “SHERLOCK HOLMES 2: A GAME OF SHADOWS “, and “THE ARTIST”.

Cinema Nirvana is located in Alexandras 192, right next to metro Ampelokipi but given the fact that it’s a smaller cinema, these days it only plays the movie “THE ARTIST” on Wednesdays.

All the movies are played in English with Greek subtitles, so it is possible for you to understand the movie!
And of course, the movies played change every few weeks, so you can enjoy a new movie every now and then.

FOR THE LOVERS OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC & NOT ONLY VOL.1

Bored of going always to the same places?

We ‘ve taken care of it for you! Here you can find a list of some nice bars, most of them “hidden”, that are worth visiting, and if you’re not Greek it’s quite impossible to know them! So hit the roads and try them ;) You can find some information about each bar, a link to their website, and prices. So, here we go:

SIX D.O.G.S., 6-8 Avramiotou str., 10551, Monastiraki http://sixdogs.gr/?page_id=252 (website also in English :) )

A place with different rooms, that hosts some good electronic music DJs, has also concerts, visual art or photography projects, small theatrical performances and also has a secret garden that has been transformed to a really nice bar. Worth visiting!

• Drinks 7-8 euros, Cocktails 9-10 euros, glass of wine 5-6 euros, beers from 5 euros

• free entrance normally except if there is a special party with DJ, when it can be 10-15 euros with one drink.

ASTRON BAR, Taki 3, Athens (Psiri) http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=22196952160&v=info

A place for the lovers of electro, progressive, techno, minimal and freestyle house. Really good sound, drinks at same prices with the above, but not recommended for a big group of people, cause it’s really tiny.

FOX, Triptolemou 30, Athina 11854

For the lovers of rock music, that’s the place to be. Right next to the metro station in Gazi, Fox has a really nice decoration, a lot of different beers and shots, and you can see different kinds of people inside (I mean it in the stylistic way :p). Reasonable prices.

A WHOLE SQUARE TO CHOOSE, Karytsi, Athina 10561

Google this area in the map, and go there. You’ll realize it’s a hidden square with a lot of fancy bars, a hotspot for Greek people the last months. The location is right next to metro Panepistimio, but it’s highly probable that you have never passed by there. ;) Stay tuned with ESN Athens Aueb blog, soon more different things to do!

Hey you…

You are starting to explore the city and everyone talks about Gazi… the bar area… but Athens is not just Gazi :P You can find many hidden places around the city center with more reasonable prices and a different atmosphere than the usual!

Hmmm you are now thinking where you can find a spot like this… well… you should just discover the “hidden bar square of Athens”… the Karutsi Square or Πλατεία Καρύτσι in greek :)

5 minutes walk from Syntagma or from Panepistimio and you are surrounded with bars and locals that are enjoying their drinks and in the middle a small Orthodox church :) If you pass by during the day only a few places are serving coffee but during the night the square is full of people!!!

Many different places with their own character, the only thing you need to do is to explore them! Alternative or jazz… vintage or not, you’ll find a bar that is definitely your choice…

The bars you’re gonna find are USE, PAIRIDAEZA, PRIZA (a small bar full of electrical plugs), BLINK, TOY and more… just walk around, listen to the music and choose which one you prefer :)

HOW to find Karutsi Square??? Follow Stadiou street and turn on the corner when you’ll see GOODY’s fast food… or just check the map!
